How To Get Rid Of Man Boobs - What To Avoid And What To Use
Man boobs (gynecomastia/male breasts) has increased in occurrence over the last decade. A Traumatic condition that is usually not understood properly by most, gynecomastia is very common between ages of 15-24 in men.
The medical field has yet to offer a good and safe treatment for gynecomastia, even though it is extremely common. Yet, there has been a lot of hope offered by alternative treatment options for gynecomastia. Proper treatment of gynecomastia can only begin once the causes behind it are correctly understood.
Causes of Gynecomastia
Though gynecomastia is often associated with a poor diet, the truth is very different. While a fatty and fast-food based diet contributes greatly to fat increase in gynecomastia, that alone cannot cause an increase in glandular size of the male breasts.
In a majority of the cases, the real cause behind man boobs is a disturbance in the hormone levels. This disturbance in hormonal levels is usually found in men with poor eating and exercise habits. It makes sense then that, while it may superficially appear that excess fat is the problem, this is actually not correct.
Man Boob Symptoms
As is clear by the usage of phrases such as man boobs and male breasts, gynecomastia is defined as the condition where an otherwise healthy male develops puffy deposits of fat under the breasts especially under and around the nipples, making it look like female-breasts.
While the fatty male breasts often coincide with fat content elsewhere on the body, in many cases the breasts are dis-proportionally large, resulting in widespread derision and distress.
Male breast Treatment
Many treatment options for gynecomastia have been offered, a large percentage of which are actually counter-productive:
1. Surgery - This is surprisingly common. The fat/tissue build-up underneath the breasts are removed after surgically cutting through the upper layers of skin and muscle. While this may have an immediate effect, this does not really treat the condition fully.
Additionally, the danger of permanent scar tissue developing underneath (which can mean permanent man boobs) easily makes this a pretty bad option. This procedure, as expected, is very expensive, and carries risks associated with all surgeries in general.
2. Prescription Drugs - These are often prescribed even though their effectiveness is widely disputed. Secondly, the expensive nature and dangerous side effects associated with them makes drugs a poor choice.
3. Condition Maskers - This category houses anything that doesn’t actually cure man boobs, but gives a superficial impression of being free of gynecomastia.
Tight vests are a good example of something that only makes it look like the condition has been treated. Of course, this wouldn’t work on a beach or while swimming when one cannot wear the vest.
4. Exercises for gynecomastia - Though these work, one needs to have a good knowledge of which ones work, and pursue them diligently. In addition, this is not immediately effective in treating issues resulting from hormonal disturbance and fluctuations and can essentially only help with developing muscle in the chest.
By far the best option is to apply an eclectic system of treatment that combines the various components of the treatment in a plan that quickly helps eliminate male breasts.
