Get Thinner And Stay Thinner

It is always the way, you start to do well on a diet and start to see results. Then when you everything is going great you start to slip a bit and put it all back on again! Here are some tips to help you to lose weight and keep that weight off for good.

Consume food in small rations - most health experts agree that the key to losing weight permanently is to consume several small snacks per day rather than two or three very large mealtimes. The theory behind eating lesser portions is that when you snack on small meals it gives your body a better chance to burn it off as fuel rather than store it as fat.

A lot of us think the aim of eating is to empty the plate, that is great if you put a reasonable amount on there. But if you put more on there than your body needs you are just going to be clogging your body up. Take the time to eat slower so you can pay attention to your body and see when it feels full. Also make sure you always leave at least 1 thing on your plate, this will break the habit of having to eat everything so you don’t feel guilty when you are full.

We all explain away our behavior so that we can rationalize what we do. The same goes for cleaning the plate, we realize that we are privileged to live in a society where food is abundant and we feel guilty therefore to leave any. If you have that attitude then how about this, put less on the plate! Then it doesn’t matter if you finish everything or not. Stop building skyscrapers of food on your plate and just have a nice amount, you will be surprised what a reasonable sized meal looks like.

Once you start to eat less you find that your crave less, but you are just as happy with the meal amount. You won’t starve by cutting down your meal sizes, it may take a while for your body and mind to adjust, but it will and then it will be much happier that you don’t overload it and so will you.

It is a lot easier to be tempted if you have temptation in sight - get rid of all the bad food from your cupboards etc. If people in your house want that kind of food then get them to keep it in the garage instead! That way they me be less tempted as well as it is harder to go and get. You will find it much easier to stick to your healthy eating routine when you do not tempt yourself every time you walk into the kitchen.

Now there will be times when you are challenged by events or people around you. Learn to be able to walk away from situations where you are going to be tempted. If you family bring fish and chips home, eat your healthy dinner in the living room away from them. If watching cooking shows leaves you hungry then make sure you are doing something else when they are on so you don’t start watching them.

Losing weight is easy, but it is keeping that weight off that is hard. You need to strong and take a step back from your lifestyle and evaluate it. If you really want to keep the weight off then you have to be strong and follow the guidelines above, you can do it though, and the results will be well worth it.
